Most days ask something of you.
This time is entirely yours.
Stress has a way of settling into everyday life in how we move, how we rest, and how connected we feel to our own bodies.
L’Art of Lightness was created around a simple belief: taking time for yourself is not an indulgence. It is part of caring for your well-being.
Every experience begins with listening. Marie-Jo adapts her approach to the person in front of her, drawing on more than four decades of experience across movement, body awareness, physical education, massage, aromatherapy, ayurveda and the wellness traditions she has encountered throughout her life and travels.
Her approach is personal by design, shaped not only by technique, but by observation, intuition, experience, and a deep respect for the connection between body and mind.

No two bodies arrive in the same way. Pressure, pace, areas of focus, and technique are adapted to your preferences and how you feel that day.

Appointments are intentionally limited so every client receives Marie-Jo’s complete attention. Quality comes before quantity.

Marie-Jo brings together more than four decades of experience across movement, body awareness, physical education, and massage. Her expertise guides the experience without making it feel clinical or formal.
You do not need to decide which massage technique your body requires before you arrive. Every session begins with a conversation and evolves according to your preferences, comfort, and what your body needs that day.
Marie-Jo’s relationship with essential oils is rooted in Provence, where she completed aromatherapy training courses taught by a pharmacist, including training delivered in partnership with PRANARÔM.
That experience deepened her understanding of essential oil quality, selection, dilution, and thoughtful use within massage.
Today, aromatherapy is woven into the L’Art of Lightness experience as a natural extension of her approach, adding another sensory layer to your time with her.
Every choice begins with the individual. Your preferences, sensitivities, allergies, and comfort are discussed before your massage, and an unscented experience is always available.
For Marie-Jo, aromatherapy is not simply about fragrance. It is part of the ritual of slowing down, becoming present, and allowing the experience to feel entirely your own.
Marie-Jo’s relationship with the body began long before L’Art of Lightness.
Her career in France as a physical education professor, educator, and teacher trainer gave her decades of experience studying movement, coordination, body awareness, and the connection between physical and mental well-being. Massage developed alongside that journey.
Over the years, her life and work took her across France and beyond, including French Polynesia, Réunion Island, Mayotte, Madagascar, Crete, and other places where different cultures, rituals, and approaches to the body shaped how she thinks about care.
Her exposure to Ayurvedic traditions, aromatherapy, movement, and different forms of hands-on wellness gradually became part of her own philosophy: there is no single formula for helping someone feel better in their body.
Today, Marie-Jo brings those influences together through experience, intuition, and a highly personalized touch. She does not approach a massage as a fixed routine. She approaches the person.
Her belief is simple: “Massage is for everybody.”
Because everyone deserves time to think about themselves, reconnect with their body, and make their own well-being a priority.
More than four decades across movement, physical education, body awareness, and massage shape the way Marie-Jo observes and responds to each person.
Your experience starts with understanding your preferences rather than choosing from a fixed sequence of techniques.
A quiet, thoughtfully prepared environment creates space to step away from the pace of everyday life.
French-Provençal aromatherapy, exposure to Ayurvedic traditions, movement expertise, and decades of hands-on experience all influence Marie-Jo’s approach.
From aromatherapy to the attention paid to small details, Marie-Jo’s French-Provençal background quietly influences the experience.
Marie-Jo limits the number of massages she provides so she can remain physically and mentally present for every client.
Your needs may change from one appointment to the next. Your massage can change with them.
Professional, refined, and experienced, but always personal, sincere, and welcoming.
Soft light. Natural textures. Thoughtful preparation. Privacy.
The L’Art of Lightness studio has been created to help the outside world feel a little farther away from the moment you arrive.
You don’t need to perform, and you don’t need to feel any particular way.
Simply arrive as you are.
How we experience our bodies changes over time.Activity, work, sleep, stress, travel, family life, and the natural evolution of the body can all influence how we feel from one day to the next.
Marie-Jo has particular experience working with active and health-conscious adults who value mobility, comfort, rest, and long-term well-being.
But the philosophy of L’Art of Lightness is broader: Massage is for everybody.
You do not need a special reason to make time for yourself.
My experience at L'Art of Lightness was nothing short of incredible. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The atmosphere was serene and calming, making me feel relaxed even before my treatments began. I booked a full spa day, including a massage, facial, and body wrap.
